why menus, closets and catalogs should be illegal: pt I
August 25, 2008
Well, it’s simple…choice. Too many choices confuddle and confuse and make life so much harder than it need be. When I go out to eat (sushi, it is the only thing I’ll buy out a door), I can never decide what to choose. I usually end up ordering the same thing. And then my closet, I get frustrated with what to wear, every day, whatever occasion, so I end up wearing the same “type” of thing every day. Granted, depending on my mood, I will wear the same outfit twice. Or seven times. Yeah, anyway…catalogs. A book of useless things on which to spend my last free $50.
side note: I think Chris Brown is so cute.
So, I think choice can be a bad thing. Especially when most of us don’t know what we want out of life, is it really that much easier to decide on a smaller scale? I find I regret things I don’t do much more than the things I do do and maybe it’s because I’ve allowed the choice to marinate in my mind too long and my first instinct gets overlooked. So maybe choice, while it’s a lovely thing…variety is the spice of life and all that…maybe it’s not so cool most of the time.
hmm… you have a point there, but maybe that’s because we’re so scared that we tend to become creatures of habit…either way I say its good and bad.
